The Surveillance Team acts as a network of monitoring experts, collaborating to improve both disturbance detection and status & trends monitoring of a changing reef system. The Team has included participation by all major Florida monitoring programs, including CREMP, SECREMP, DRM, and NCRMP.
The Surveillance Team is led by:
Stephanie Schopmeyer (FWC FWRI)
Resources related to NOAA's National Coral Reef Monitoring Program (NCRMP) can be found here. Florida's most recent 'Status Report' can be found here.
Resources related to FWC's Coral Reef Evaluation and Monitoring Program (CREMP) and Southeast Florida Coral Reef Evaluation and Monitoring Project (SECREMP), including survey methodologies, data, and reports, can be found here.

If you are out on Florida's Coral Reef and would like to report something that seems amiss, please use the following reporting tools:
SEAFAN.net can be used to report coral bleaching, coral disease, invasive species, marine debris, vessel groundings, anchor damage, harmful algal blooms, fish disease and mortality, discolored water, or other unusual sightings throughout Florida's Coral Reef. Below is a dashboard illustrating SEAFAN citizen reports, developed in collaboration with the Data Management Team.
The Fish Kill Hotline can be used to report fish kills and disease directly to FWC.
The Algal Bloom Reporting Form can be used to report potential harmful algal blooms in public waters directly to DEP.
